"Welcome to my lovely coffin dungeon!"
―Coffin Man

Description[]

The Coffin Man is a man who creates the Training Dungeon in the Outer World. His goal is to make the ultimate dungeon. He captures and tames Meta-Beings for his dungeons.

Appearance[]

Medium 180158 721656885

The Coffin Man is an older 'gentleman' with spiky, grey hair, aqua-colored eyes and rock-like, grey distortions on his left arm and leg. He has some bandages wrapped around his left arm, left leg and right foot, and he carries a large coffin on his back.

He wears two red and black belts around his chest, two grey belts slightly above his pants, green pants on one leg, short, torn, brown pants over those and a red headband with an aqua-colored eye on it.

Personality[]

The Coffin Man has vulgar speaking habits and an intelligent mind. He is prideful and mean, never claiming to have any faults himself and only ever criticizing the faults of others. He will badmouth the other characters with hardships, such as Longneck for being suicidal, or the Bagged One for having a strained relationship with her father (despite the latter not being any fault of her own).

Despite his cruel tendencies, he has high aspirations, and declares that he will make "the best dungeon in the world." He also appears to have a more optimistic worldview than the other characters; after Longneck buries himself, the Coffin Man will comment on how "stupid" he is for wanting to die, stating that if you continue living, "something good might happen!" He dislikes reflecting on the past, though he will occasionally lament on the state of the world, especially that there is no drinkable pure water anymore.

Game Traits[]

HNI 0044 MPO

The Coffin Man stands in the Outer World to the right of the Neuro Tower's entrance.

Though at first he appears to only taunt the player, the Coffin Man will let them into the first training dungeon after they've died at least once. If his training dungeons are completed without dying, he will forbid the player from entering and will complain that he's "wasted a coffin.".

After completing the game, up to 7 dungeons will become available: the Hell Dungeon, the Defenseless Dungeon, the Rotten Dungeon, the Hunger Dungeon, the Frugal Dungeon, the Trap Dungeon, and the Reverse Disk Dungeon.

Trivia[]

  • He is one of the only characters that realizes that you constantly die.
  • Longneck hates the Coffin Man for his lack of repentance, and the Coffin Man hates Longneck for being caught up about the past. The latter will badmouth him any time Longneck is brought up, even being disappointed that he cannot do so after Longneck's death.
  • He tutors you in-game.
  • He has a tendency to say "goddamnit" in nearly every sentence.
