Description[]
The Archangel in the guidebook. Potentially an image of him before the Blaze.
The Archangel, also known as the 'greater angel', is one of the leaders of the Order of Malkuth.
He gives the Angelic Rifle to the Protagonist and tells him to head for the Neuro Tower. His true intentions at the time, however, remain ambiguous.
His wings can move and support his weight, allowing him to fly.
Appearance[]
The Archangel almost constantly carries around a bored expression and bright red eyes brought about through the pre-distortion of the world. He has large, white wings, a pale complexion and short, shiny blonde hair.
He wears a white long-coat bearing the Malkuth insignia with a buckled, black sweater under it, a red glove, white slacks, golden shoulder covers, and 18th century, golden shoes.

The Archangel is shown to be a very quiet and self-contained person. Overall, he is controlling, intellectual, brave, religious, family-minded and short-tempered. If you fail too many times in the Neuro Tower, he will begin to make rude comments and even yell. Fail or complete the tower 42+ times, and he will stop talking to you altogether. When you make it to the bottom floor after you beat the game, he will show you his softer side, saying that he enjoys your company and is very, very bored. He is very manipulative, tricking all 42 members of Malkuth and taking over control after the Blaze. During one meeting of the Malkuth officials, number 12 asked out of line, "Why do you hate God so much?", and it immediately enraged the Archangel. Very sensitive to the loyalty of his followers, he had the Koriel people locked away when they questioned his ideals. The only ones who learn of his true ideals are the protagonist and Doctor Angelicus, who had feelings for him, as a flashback in the manga.
Story[]
He became the leader of Malkuth when he was not much more than a child (estimated around seven). He met a young Doctor Angelicus, and they had a conversation about the state of the world and the Archangel's red eyes. From the very beginning of the story, the Archangel had the title of high-ranking official of Malkuth. Before the Blaze, the distortion of the world was slow and painful, which drove him to try to find the way to stop it. As he researched further into what ailed the reality around them, he became obsessed with a hatred of the Absolute God, even going so far as to drive her insane - causing the Blaze. Years after, the Archangel is seen impaled on a consciousness orb for his traitorous ways.
Trivia[]
- It is said in the guidebook that one of the reasons why Archangel hates God is because she (unknowingly) takes the form of his dead sister.
- According to Baroque ~Distorted Delusions~ Official Guidebook, the Archangel's hobby is tarot cards— The names of the Grotesque come from him matching them to the Major Arcana.
